I called Jay for a quote when our main floor toilet overflowed and came pouring out of our basement ceiling. Steam Kleen returned my call promptly and was honest about what they could do and what was a reasonable expectation. Jay came when he said he would and cleaned the carpet, replaced the underpad, dried the carpet and steam cleaned it. He also moved the wall unit and after a few days of drying, he returned and replaced everything and steam cleaned the entire basement. Steam Kleen staff always wore shoe covers and were very polite. Polyester Carpet Cleaning
Carpets made from polyester material are notable for their soft texture. They come in a variety of designs and styles which will add style to any room. They are easy to keep maintenance and are resistant to dirt. Polyester wall to wall carpets are more suited to dens and children’s rooms as they aren’t very resistant to mechanical stress.

Polypropylene Carpet Cleaning
Polypropylene is a synthetic material that is generally stain resistant and water-resistant. This makes polypropylene carpets great for entrances, stairways and hallways. Wall to wall carpets made of polypropylene need weekly care as well as annual steam cleaning.
Wall to wall carpets require professional steam cleaning to remove the dirt that builds up at the base of the carpet. Rental machines are not able to achieve the cleanliness offered by high-pressure water and at boiling temperatures. SteamKleen uses equipment and solutions that provide optimal cleaning for the wall to wall polypropylene and nylon carpets.
Why Steam Cleaning?
“Steam Cleaning” is just a nickname for a method of carpet cleaning called “hot-water extraction.”
This is the preferred method of cleaning by major carpet manufacturers. In fact, some require you to use this service at least once every 12-18 months otherwise the warranty on your carpet can be voided.
This type of cleaning is widely considered the best method of removing embedded soils and contaminants in your carpet. Steam cleaning works by injecting a high pressurized solution into the carpet pile, then immediately extracts it with the powerful vacuum system. Most companies will apply a pre-treatment to break down soils, loosen oil deposits and remove spots.
After the cleaning, a protective coating can be applied to your carpet, most of the time for an additional cost. This coating is commonly referred to as “scotch guarding.” This phrase is also just a nickname. What is applied is actually a Teflon. It’s a good idea to have this reapplied, as the scotch guarding applied during the manufacturing process will only last so long.
High Heat
If a truck-mount system is used, the water can reach over 230 degrees! Water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Hot water is a key component in any cleanin.
Powerful Vacuum System
Truck-mount systems are basically an engine with a very powerful buit-in blower. The horsepower ranges from 15 to 50, depending on the size of the machine. This engine powers this vacuum so it can create a very powerful suction. This vacuum is so powerful that it can have your carpets dry within a couple hours. There is a misconception that steam cleaning will over-saturate your carpet, soak your padding and take days to dry. This is simply NOT true.
Synthetic Carpets
To clean your synthetic carpets, there are three important factors to keep in mind: Vacuum them frequently; Clean spills promptly, and have carpet cleaning professionals cleaned them at least once a year.
Vacuuming your synthetic carpet thoroughly and frequently is the most important thing you can do to maintain its look, particularly in high-traffic areas. You should also use walk-off mats at entrances to minimize the tracking of dirt particles onto the carpet and reduce soil accumulation.
Nylon Carpets
It’s affordable to get a nylon wall to wall carpet. This style of carpet is great since it comes in a large variety of colours and designs. These include twisted loops or frieze design which gives the carpet a curly appearance.
Nylon wears well and is resistant to mechanical pressures due to its elasticity. It is also stain-resistant but needs professional steam cleaning once a year. Steam cleaning will remove dirt that is trapped in the carpet pile. It is a quick and effective carpet cleaning method that utilizes water at its boiling point and cleaning solutions. This loosens and removes dust and dirt that ordinary carpet cleaning doesn’t.
Since synthetic area rugs are ideal for places with heavy foot traffic they will accumulate dirt and dust over time.
